Stemmer det , de mener det er en Leporacanthicus art, her er en tilbakemelding fra en av dem som var med å fanget den ,

I'm glad you like our Venezuelan plecos and are preoccupied about their ecosystem. I hope to place more videos of unidentified plecos soon.

We caught this pleco in the very very high part of the Ventuari river. We go in collecting expeditions very often in all parts of Venezuela.

We are still investigating if it is a new species or a color demorphism of a L-240. The famous Venezuelan ictologist, Francisco Provenzano (he helped describe the L-235, L-257, Acestridium dichromum, and most of the Cordilancistrus and Dolichancistrus in venezuela )saw the video and pictures of the fish and almost asured me that it was a new species. The person we sent the pleco to in Canada says that it is a color demorphism. So what we are planning on doing is going back to where we caught it an looking for more of them so that they can be scientifically analized in The Central University of Venezuela by Francisco Provenzano.

By the moment dont worry about their natural habitat or about preserving the species. The Ventuari River is arround 400 to 500 kilometers long and when we go fishing we fish with 20 meters nets in arround 5 places. The place is so far away from civilization that it will not be endangered in a long time.
